Administrative Secretarial Assistant – Shielded Operations at Police

What will you do?

Together with your direct colleague, you contribute to an effective and efficient organization as an administrative secretarial assistant. You will perform administrative secretarial work independently, for five managers. In addition to working independently, you are also a team player: working together is right up your alley. You are understanding and helpful to colleagues, with whom you actively seek contact. Does a colleague have an urgent question in between? Even then you are willing to take on ad hoc work. You manage the agenda with foresight, identify bottlenecks and are able to solve them independently and efficiently. In addition, you are the point of contact for internal and external contacts. You also prepare meetings and discussions and set up consultations. You reserve locations and arrange catering and other necessary facilities, you register visitors and pick up external visitors. In addition, you will ensure the reporting of various substantive consultations. When necessary, you give that little bit extra and you show initiatives to improve the secretariat. You also manage the department’s work archive.

Where will you work?

You will work at the AO Department, which consists of various specialist teams. The teams carry out a wide range of activities in the field of investigation and surveillance and security on behalf of internal, national and international customers. All these tasks are organized at a national level and are exclusively reserved for the teams within AO.

As of 1 January 2024, the National Unit will be split into two independent units, each with a specific task. This position has been set up within the National Investigation and Interventions Unit (LO). LO is committed to combating serious and organised crime, terrorism, foreign interference and cybercrime, both nationally and internationally. In addition, LO supports the police throughout the Netherlands with special interventions (DSI) and covert operations.

You will work in the Driebergen area, where you will work as a duo for various team leaders of the AO Department. In principle, you and your immediate colleague are interchangeable.

Who are you?

You have a flexible attitude and are a real spider in the web. You are an expert in working accurately, efficiently managing mailboxes and calendars and making appointments. You also have organizational talent. You act quickly and accurately and can also switch quickly between multiple managers and different activities. Collaboration is right up your alley and you are also customer-oriented. A wait-and-see attitude is alien to you; You are someone who likes to take initiative. You have a positive critical attitude and you come up with proposals for improvement where necessary. You are communicative and you are good at writing. The environment in which you will work is often dynamic and confidential, but you like that and can hold your own just fine. You will be on a team where everyone can participate, have a say and decide, and where there is room for everyone’s talents and craftsmanship. Manners and behavior are made negotiable and you also discuss them in the team.

You also have:

  • MBO 3 working and thinking level* and preferably a secretarial training;
  • experience in the field;
  • an excellent command of the Dutch language;
  • preferably knowledge of the police organization, processes of the police and the departments.
