The Recreation Sites and Trails branch is a provincial program delivered through a headquarters office, four regions, and 20 districts across the province. The purpose of the branch is to plan, develop and maintain, a significant, diverse, and valuable network of 1800+ recreation sites and 800+ recreation trails to provide high quality recreational opportunities for the public, including residents and visitors to British Columbia.
Core Branch functions include planning and managing forest recreation sites and trails; stewarding recreation resources on Crown land; developing strategic and operational policies and a regulatory foundation in support of program delivery and program planning and administration.
The Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Strategy supports the Government of British Columbia in its focus on building a true and lasting vision of reconciliation. Under the leadership of the Regional Manager, the Regional Administrative Assistant provides a variety of office administrative and contract support services for regional and district operations.
Job Requirements:
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent. Preference may be given to applicants with some post-secondary education or formal training in office or business administration, contract administration, basic accounting or related field.
Experience:
- Experience providing a comprehensive range of administrative and/or financial support in a busy, high-volume public or private sector office setting.
- Experience drafting or preparing a variety of documentation including database tracking, reports, spreadsheets, budgetary, financial and contract-related forms and documents.
- Experience in contract administration, including preparing contract documents, coding, ensuring accuracy of billing, etc.
- Experience interacting with and providing support to managers and staff, contractors, and other external stakeholders.
