Customer Care Agent at Base Logistics

As a Control Tower Agent, you ensure that worldwide transports run smoothly, with a focus on time- and mission-critical shipments. Coordination, communication and administration are the key words for this position. With your proactive attitude, you know how to convince international customers and partners and include them in your way of thinking! You do this within the dynamic world of Spare Parts Logistics!

You will be working at Base Logistics, part of Base Logistics Group, in the SPL department in Moerdijk within the Control Tower. Together with your direct colleagues in this department, you ensure that transport continues for our customers worldwide. Not just ‘everyday’ transport, but time- and mission-critical shipments. This department ensures that we have lead times from 30 minutes to 24 hours. We do this through global partners and external locations. Within this extensive, international network of specialists, you and your colleagues ensure that everyone takes action when necessary! 

As a Control Tower Agent, you are the first point of contact for customers about the status of their shipments within our SPL (Service Parts Logistics) network. You will mainly focus on overnight shipments. These are shipments all over the world, with different partners. You check and coordinate all shipments and administratively complete the files. This includes delivery details and rates, for example. You can process this in Klairy, our WMS & TMS application that we developed ourselves. Furthermore, you will have tasks such as:

  • Maintain contact with customers, storage locations and carriers all over the world.
  • Proactively inform customers by phone, mail and Klairy.
  • Processing transport tickets.
  • Release of TMS & WMS orders.
  • Allocating SSL orders.
  • Processing and actively acting on priorities.
  • Drawing up clear customer overviews.

Number of hours: 38 hours per week
Location: Moerdijk (in combination with working from home)
Working hours: Between 06:30 and 18:00

What do you bring?

We are looking for someone with the right DNA, supplemented with experience in the logistics sector. Ownership, teamwork and being proactive are extremely important in this role! On a daily basis, you interact with parties all over the world. It is therefore also very important that you dare to include customers in your solution! 

In addition, we also expect:

  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English language, both verbally and in writing. Both languages are important because of the international work!
  • Experience in a logistics position is a definite advantage. This can be in Customer Service
  • You are stress resistant, act accurately and you can quickly make connections.

Submitting a Certificate of Good Conduct and taking an English test is part of the procedure for the final appointment.
