(HCOS) is a K-12 Provincial Online Learning School providing fully accredited Christian education to students in BC. HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who are resourceful and innovative educators, providing student support to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.
We’re looking for dynamic Education Assistants to work with Inclusive Education students in the family home and/or at our one-day-a-week on-site locations, called Community Connections. Specific training in Inclusive Education, such as an Education Assistant certificate or equivalent, is preferred.
We are looking for a part-time Education Assistant to support one or more students at Community Connections (CC) in Chilliwack, BC, on Tuesdays from 9:15 to 2:15.
CCs support home educators by offering students a one day-a-week classroom experience at various onsite locations across BC. Additional in-home student support opportunities may also be available.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
- Provide the social, spiritual, and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person
- Support students individually or in small groups
- Collaborate with teaching staff to support delivery of personalized learning opportunities
- Build relationships with families, teachers and other EAs
- Support IEP goals
