What will you do?

As Security Officer of Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, you are responsible for the general safety of guests and employees and you have a large share in combating calamities and incidents. You therefore carry out surveillance inside and around the building and you are the point of contact in the event of irregularities. You are strong in communication and know how to keep an overview and comply with procedures during exciting circumstances. In addition, you have a high degree of independence. For example, you carry out your own investigations in the company. In addition to general security, you will manage the key cabinet, lost/found items and perform simple technical work on a daily basis during the absence of the technical service. You also focus a significant part of the day on administration and reports. Every day you are in contact with guests and you therefore find it a challenge to provide service in a positive way at the highest level and to tell guests about the rich history of the building.

The team you will be working in consists of 6 full-time employees, including the Director of Facilities and is complemented by a number of very dedicated part-timers. The department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you think flexible working in a close-knit team is a must.

What you bring to this role

• In possession of an MBO level 2 Security Guard diploma or MBO level 3 Security Coordinator.
• Has at least 2 years of work experience as a security guard in an international and service-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of surveillance/security methodologies.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English, both at a business level.
• An emergency response diploma and first aid diploma are an advantage.
• Willing to participate in a police screening as part of the recruitment process.
