Who do you work with?

Where do you work?
Kentalis College Utrecht is a school for secondary special education (cluster 2), where pupils with a developmental language disorder (DLD) and/or hearing impairment can follow VMBO, practical education or entrance. Our students are between twelve and twenty years old. We prepare them for work or further education in a safe, stimulating and challenging learning environment

What do you do as a teaching assistant A?
In coordination with the teacher, you guide the students and offer educational support. In doing so, you tailor your approach to the talents, possibilities and situation of each individual student. These are your most important activities:
- You provide guidance in practicing teaching material and/or skills. You do this one-on-one, or in subgroups;
- Where necessary, you offer students daily care and support in general daily living activities;
- You contribute to the organization of school and educational activities.
We offer you:
- An employment contract for the duration of 1 year with the prospect of permanent employment;
- A gross monthly salary of €2,413 to €3,126 (scale OOP 4) for a full working week of 40 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Primary Education;
- An employment contract of 32 hours per week. Your hours and days are tailored to a schedule that suits everyone;
- Extras such as a structural end-of-year bonus of 8.33% and a good pension scheme with ABP, including holiday pay;
- Opportunities for individual professionalization;
- Access to a preboarding app to get familiar with Kentalis;
- Development opportunities with access to more than 100 online training courses through GoodHabitz;
- An employment conditions package that you can put together yourself. For example, you can opt for a sports subscription, a bicycle plan or the exchange of your travel expenses.

You are balanced, optimistic, easy to get along with, reliable, clear in communication, focused on change and achieving results, with an eye for usefulness and purpose.
For our students it is important that you can find out with patience what the child wants to communicate. And that you adapt your words and sentences to the language level of the student. You go for the development of the student and your own and can reflect well on yourself. Besides:
- Do you have at least a completed MBO-4 education, such as teaching assistant;
- You master the Dutch language and are also supported by Gebaren (NmG) or are enthusiastic about learning this.
